That awkward moment when a random white guy says, “what’s up my niggas?!” to his other white friends in a car and then turns around to see me, justsomenyckids and a couple other of our friends walking in his direction staring at him. I could tell he was scared out his mind because I could see the fear in his face. I mean, a lot of people would be too if they yelled out a word in public that’s used in a disrespectful way to describe a person of a different skin-color or nationality. Plus, he started to studder on his words when we got closer to him.
I found the whole thing hilarious because I never been in a situation like that in my life. Just thinking about it and knowing if it was some other brothers like ourselves who were in the same predicament and actually took offense to another race using the word “nigga,” it would of really caused some serious problems. But being that me and my friends aren’t violent people and are real laid-back chill dudes, we just ended up laughing in the guys face and continue to head to our destination.
To me, fighting a person over a something that’s in the majority of us, black people, vocabulary is very hypocritical. I hate that “it’s okay for me to do it but you can’t” mentality. If you find something offensive that you do yourself, just stop doing it in general.
